SKM College, Begusarai is a constituent unit of L N M U, Kameshwarnagar, Darbhanga. It was established in 1958 by Late Bisheswar Pd. Singh (The Founder Secretary of the Governing body. It would have been impossible for this college to attain its present status without the unfailing support and concern of Late Saryoo Pd. Singh (The outgoing Secretary of the Governing body, Ex-MLA & Minister). The kind and unstinting Co-operation of Sri N. K. Agrawal the then DM of Begusarai gave it the precious Security and safe premises by getting it a full length boundary wall.

The people of Begusarai would remain ever thankful to Sri Ram Sagar Kumar, Maniuppa whose hearty and lavish donation made it possible to run Science faculty in this college. It is the cumulative effort and generous blessings of these Hon'ble academic visionaries that today we feel privileged to introduce 'Fish and Fisheries' Vocational Course in this college. The only women's College of Begusarai District is situated in the heart of Begusarai, Industrial Town. The college imparts education in three faculties - Science, Arts & Commerce. In addition to under graduate teaching this college imparts post graduate teaching in Arts subjects. Well over 90% success in the university examination adequately spells out the noteworthy academic excellence among the students here. Of course, some of then have topped in the merit list and have brought prestige by glorious performance in academics as well as co-curricular activities.
